Dreams in Polaroid

I took this photo on Friday and this is exactly why I take polaroids. Every once in a while, almost never when I expect it, I am surprised with a dream that develops before my eyes. This is one of those dreams.

Dear Friend,

I’ve now sent out almost 450 letters and polaroids. Each one is a labor of love and each letter and polaroid is unique. What I love most is that they cannot be reproduced; there is only one original and that is only for one person. Here are scans of four letters and polaroids I’ve sent out recently. Well, you don’t actually get to see the letter part, just the envelope. Just a tease. The letters themselves are full of secrets.

 Sending out letters and polaroids to people all over the world continues to be my favorite thing to do. Here are a few envelopes and polaroids from letters I’ve sent this year. Just Us Two

Our love burns madly, but always true. This year will behold many celebrations of our love, starting with La Décadanse, which opens on January 20th.

Sometimes (always) the world surprises me. I had waited almost a year to even post these polaroids and while I really loved them, I didn’t know if other people would. Well, they were kindly posted on Tumblr (Thank you, Library Vixen!) and now I see that they have been reposted and liked almost 10,000 times. That’s rather something.

Because of this response, I’ve decided to sell 11” x 8.5” prints of these two photos for a very reasonable price of $35. Because I love you. These are each being offered in a limited edition of 10 and will be signed and numbered.
