Secrets: The First Words of a New Series

Dearest friend,

I’ve begun a new series. It’s about secrets and parts of ourselves that we don’t often share. The photo shoots are conversations. They give me an opportunity to ask friends things that I’d normally be reluctant or too shy to ask about. Their fears, their sexuality, their past, their bodies.

While they talk, I photograph them. 

The purpose of the series is not to reveal their secrets. In fact, my intention is to keep the contexts opaque and to create more questions than answers. My hope is that perhaps it will inspire you to ask your friends for their stories, their secrets.
