      Boxcar Bennedetta

Boxcar Bennedetta taught me how to hop trains one summer. She found me while I was taking a smoke break behind the donut shop, “It’s now or never and never will be your forever” I ditched my visor, grabbed my bike, and became her disciple for 3 months. Where to catch out, whom to trust and what to ride: she knew the ropes forwards, backwards, up and down. We’d kick up mad dust during the day and kill endless hours at night. I never knew I was restless until I caught a taste of what she knew. Union Pacific, Burlington Northern, Texas, Colorado, California. I work in a hospital records center now, but it was real, I swear. I have this picture.
